Service Dogs
At Cosmos Service Dogs, we are dedicated to training service dogs with a diverse range of skills to meet the unique needs of each individual. We begin by meeting with applicants to understand their specific requirements, which may span multiple categories. Our approach is highly personalized, ensuring that each dog is custom-tailored to the person they will serve. Our expertly trained dogs can assist with a wide array of tasks, including mobility support, hearing assistance, diabetic and seizure alerts, various medical alerts, autism and FASD support, PTSD relief, cancer support, and more. At Cosmos, we are passionate about empowering lives through the transformative bond between service dogs and their handlers.
Emotional Support Dogs
Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) provide comfort and calm to individuals with disabling mental health conditions. While they do not have public access rights, ESAs are protected in rental properties with no-pet policies. Though ESAs typically do not require specific skills, we offer training for tasks like behavior disruption when needed, with the clear understanding that this does not qualify them as service dogs with public access privileges.
Facility Assistance Dogs
CWD facility dogs are specially trained assistance dogs that work alongside staff members in organizations where task-specific support is beneficial. These dogs are well-suited for environments such as schools, courthouses, hospitals, group homes, and child advocacy centers.
A CWD facility dog is expertly trained to perform service dog commands like picking up items, opening doors, and providing calming pressure across a client's lap or body. These skills are designed to enhance therapies, encourage participation, and reduce anxiety for clients in professional settings. In hospitals, they may offer mobility support, while in schools, they can perform behavior intervention tasks for children.
Calm, reliable, and affectionate, CWD facility dogs assist in the development of independent living skills and can be integrated into various structured therapies. They also serve as a catalyst for social interactions, enriching the lives of those they support.
Therapy Dogs
Therapy dogs, accompanied by their owners, volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes, bringing comfort and joy to those they visit. Whether helping a child learn to read or brightening the day of a senior in assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners work together as a team to enhance the well-being of others.
The dogs used as therapy dogs are typically dogs that are owned by their partners who seek to start using them as therapy dogs. A therapy dog is not a service dog and has no rights to public access.
Pet Dog Training/Behavior Modification
Successful training is a rewarding aspect of dog ownership, fostering a strong bond and positive relationship between you and your dog. All dogs benefit from learning basic commands, and sometimes, behavior modification is necessary to address unwanted behaviors. At CWD, we offer both training and behavior modification services to help ensure your pet is well-behaved in public, promoting a positive experience for everyone and respecting the rights of service dog users. Our goal is to help you develop a well-trained dog that can accompany you in public without causing disruptions.

I got my first puppy in October 2023. I was incredibly excited and dedicated to training her myself. We trained every day, and she was the perfect little puppy.
