The purpose of Cosmos Working Dogs is to assist in the training and placement of Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Emotional Support Dogs, and to assist in the training of pet dogs to assure they are well behaved within the community decreasing the potential negative impact they might have in encountering working dogs in public. 

We use positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs, which means we reward good behavior rather than punishing bad behavior.

The cost of most of our services varies depending on the type of training and the duration of the sessions. For specific pricing details, please contact us directly.

For those interested in obtaining service dogs or emotional support animals (ESAs), we offer the option to join a waiting list for a free dog when Cosmos Working Dogs secures the necessary funds for training and placement. Additionally, we can assist with fundraising efforts to help expedite the process.

Please note that the waiting time for a free dog without any fundraising efforts on your part may be quite lengthy, as Cosmos Working Dogs must first secure the required funding.

We place service dogs and ESA's both across the USA and in Europe. We offer therapy dog and pet dogs training in the state of California at this time with the intention to grow the reach to other states. 

At CWD we will discuss the needs of the person who requests a service dog to assess what skills they need and tailor a dog to meet their needs. Some types of dogs include autism assistance, seizure alert, diabetic alert, other types of medical alert, mobility, hearing ear, FASD assistance, PTSD, and others. 

CWD is funded by private contributions from individuals; gifts from businesses, civic groups and service clubs; grants from corporations and foundations; and ongoing fundraising activities, such as special events and mailings. 

When placing dogs that we obtain, we primarily use Papillons, Goldens Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds, as well as shelter dogs. When testing dogs that are owned we will use any breed in the home as long as they meet our standards for training., 

At CWD, we believe that a service dog doesn't need to be raised solely by an organization  to be effective. We offer evaluations of your current dog to determine if they meet the necessary standards for the specific service you require. Our assessments are thorough and honest, ensuring that you receive an accurate understanding of your dog's capabilities. However, we do reserve the right to train only those dogs we believe are well-suited to perform the tasks needed for their role.
